3 Fat Loss Rules Every Busy Mum Needs To Know

Wanting to look and feel better is a challenge for many of us, but it’s especially difficult for busy mothers. You’re often tempted by unhealthy snacks and generally don’t have the time or energy to exercise. But there are some simple things you can do to help yourself lose weight without feeling like you’re putting too much pressure on yourself. Here are three rules that will help you when wanting to look better:

1. Eat Well, Eat Often

It’s a common misconception that eating less is the way to look better. The truth is, you have to eat less junk and more real food in order to lose fat. A good rule of thumb is to eat at least three meals per day with one snack or drink in between meals.

A good diet should consist of protein, fibre, fat and water. You should aim for about 40% of your calories from protein sources such as meat, fish and eggs; 30% from carbohydrates like whole grains (brown rice), fruits and vegetables; 30% from healthy fats like olive oil; and 10% from alcohol if you choose not to count its calories as part of your daily intake (1 ounce = approximately 35 grams).

When it comes to eating healthy, there are many ways to lose weight. Here’s a few tips from the experts on how you can look and feel better about your body without feeling like you’re starving yourself: 1) Eat at least 3 meals per day. 2) Do not skip breakfast because it sets your metabolism off kilo calories faster than any other meal of the day.

2. Keep Moving

In this age of convenience, it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that you have no time to exercise. But if you can’t find the time or energy to commit quality time to your fitness programme, don’t despair! You can work in small chunks of physical activity throughout the day. For example:

  • While watching TV
  • While doing chores around the house (like cleaning the bathroom)
  • While walking around a store shopping for groceries

There are many other ways to fit in movement without having to spend hours at one time getting sweaty and tired. Just make sure that whatever form of exercise you choose fits your lifestyle and schedule so it becomes part of your normal routine rather than an afterthought.

3. Sleep

The third and final rule you need to adhere to is that of sleep. Sleep is vital for your survival and if you are not sleeping enough, it will have a negative impact on your health, energy levels and metabolism.

In order to determine how much sleep you need there are many factors which must be taken into consideration including: age, gender and genetics as well as lifestyle factors such as work hours/stress levels etc

The general consensus amongst experts seems to be that adults should aim for somewhere between 6-8 hours per night. However it’s important that everyone works out what works best for them by experimenting until they find the perfect amount of ZZZs.
